St Annes

Things to do in St Anne's

St Anne’s Square is a 10-minute walk from The Chymes Holiday Flats! You will find everything there, a cute little village square with the essentials (Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury's, Boots, and more!) AND lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs (List of our personal favourites below). The best part is that many have outdoor heated seating, and the air is fresh and crisp!

Another draw to St Anne’s is the rock garden, it's picturesque, and a lovely area to walk around, right on the promenade. Next to it is an outdoor mini-golf green! Which is so fun and in a convenient location! Also, keep in mind, there are Beach Huts and St Anne’s Pier to check out too!

Fairhaven Lake is a beautiful saltwater lake right on the coast. On one side there is the lake, which is surrounded by greenery, then on the other, there’s the beach! There’s so much to do there, for example, you can hire a motorboat, canoe, or rowing boat, and play in the skate park, flat green bowling, tennis and basketball courts!

There’s a cafe right there and a few more surrounding the area, an RSPB discovery centre, and a park. We all go there for walks as there are trails to follow and honestly the views are stunning no matter the time or weather. There are many areas and space for a picnic, lots of geese, ducks, and swans about! Whether you’re alone, with your partner or kids you will love it here!

Golfing in Lytham St Anne’s – We have been very lucky to have had some famous tournaments and golfers play in this town! There are lots of great golf clubs across Lytham St. Anne’s, for example, the Royal Lytham & St Anne’s Club is one of the courses in the Open Championship rotation and the Women's British Open has also played on the course five times!

Of course, we can't forget the beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles!

Blackpool

Just a 15-minute drive from Lytham St Anne’s, here you will find the famous Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle Waterpark, and Blackpool Tower to name a few! Get fresh doughnuts on the promenade and be sure to stop and have the BEST homemade ice cream from Notarianni’s.

Other popular attractions include:

  • Sealife Centre
  • Blackpool Dungeons
  • Madame Tussauds
  • North, Central and South Pier
  • Tram rides

Our Food and Drink Recommendations

Food-wise there’s everything from Greek to a Sunday roast and pancakes! Here is a selection of our favourites!

Restaurants

  • Un Momento 2 Alexandria Drive - A real taste of Italy, excellent atmosphere and our personal go-to! We are beyond excited that our guests get a 10% discount when they eat in!
  • Tiggis Italian 25 Orchard Rd - Lovely Italian restaurant with vegetarian/vegan options! The highlight for me is definitely the dessert especially their tiramisu!
  • Fifty-Four 54 Wood St – Looking for something light but tasty! Fifty-Four has brunch and tapas, hot drinks, and cocktails.
  • Allegria 27 St Anne’s Road West - A cute little Italian restaurant with a wine list to complement every dish. They have lots of vegetarian options to choose from, my personal favourite is the Tortelloni Gorgonzola!
  • The Zen Restaurant 32-34 Wood Street - A Thai and Chinese restaurant that has amazing Phad Thai and a large menu with lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options!
  • Imli 33 Wood St – Indian Restaurant right in the middle of the square. Yummy authentic Indian food

Cafes/Lunch

  • Costa & Café Nero is a 10-minute walk from The Chymes Holidays Flats, you can find an easy dose of tea/coffee a stone throws away! Can’t go wrong with that.
  • Blacksheep Tearoom 22 Park Road - A quirky little cafe that serves afternoon tea and cakes.
  • Beach Terrace Cafe South Promenade - is at the end of the road! AND open all year round, rain or shine! It has the best ice cream around and your typical beachy food!

Fish & Chips

  • The View, South Promenade – It has a beautiful view looking over the beach! Right on the seafront. The restaurant has glass walls so even in warmth you can look at the views! The portion sizes are huge and very inexpensive.
  • St Anne’s Fish Restaurant 41 St Andrew's Road Street - One of the best St Anne’s has to offer, and as an extra little something, they do homemade pies!
  • The Haven 1 Alexandria Drive - Delicious fish and chips right around the corner, our absolute favourite! Opening 18th May.

Right around the corner from the flats on Alexandria Drive, you will find Red Rose Launderette and dry cleaning if you need it! You can’t come to the coast and not have Fish & Chips and one of the best St Anne’s has to offer (The Haven) is right around the corner. There is also, a convenience store and pharmacy right there! Everything you need is within walking distance.

Around St Anne’s there are lots of other cafes, restaurants, bars, and pubs, listed above are just our favourites. Have a walk around and if you find somewhere amazing that we haven’t mentioned, let us know!
